The Stroot Family

From Northern Minnesota to Haiti and Beyond...

Hello! We are Rob and Kecia. We have a heart for Haiti and the world- wherever God may send us.

We live in Northern Minnesota with our large family! We have adopted four children from Haiti, in addition to our four biological children. During our first adoption process, we traveled to Haiti to meet and visit our children.  It was during those trips to Haiti that we fell in love with the people of Haiti and wondered what we could do to help.

In December of 2010, we traveled to Haiti again, but this time as short-term missionaries helping out at an orphanage.  After some doors were opened for us, we felt God calling us to adopt again, and in 2013, we brought 2 more children home.  During our visits, we continued to be burdened for the people of Haiti.  It was in 2014 that the biological uncle of one of our Haitian children contacted us, asking us to take an active role on a board of an organization he was forming named Faith and Action International.  The purpose of this organization would be to address the physical and spiritual needs of some of the poorest people in Haiti.  We felt led by God to say yes, not sure of where it would lead or what God would have in store for us.

Faith and Action International held a women’s conference in August of 2014 and Kecia was asked to be one of the speakers at it.  It was an honor and privilege to share the Word of God with sisters in Christ in Haiti!   It was during this visit that the board met and discussed some severe needs in various communities in Haiti, including a need for a new school in an area of Cayes and a church in Mirebalais that was about to lose their church building.

In the fall of 2014, we joined a small group study on the book Radical by David Platt.  It was during this study that we felt called to move forward to build this school in Cayes and to purchase the land that the church is on in Mirebalais.  In order to bring others alongside us in this ministry, we formed a charity, Faith and Action, and received 501c3 status in 2015.  It is our privilege to be a channel that God is using to address the needs of these communities.
